Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful Information for New Patients

Finding the dental care you need can feel like a big undertaking sometimes. Even if you’ve already reviewed the information on our website, you may still have questions for us – and that’s perfectly fine! We hope you’ll find the answer you’re looking for here on our frequently asked questions page, and if you don’t, please contact us right away. Our team members are always happy to help.

Why do I need to go to the dentist every six months?

Because unfortunately, even patients who brush and floss as they should every single day still end up with dental problems that need professional attention. These problems may not even be noticeable to an untrained eye until they become more serious in nature. That’s where our Ann Arbor team comes in! Regular checkups and cleanings allow us to notice any changes in your smile right away and treat them effectively. We strive to be as conservative as possible in our approach so that your teeth and gums remain whole and healthy.

Do you see children?

Of course! Dr. Cocco loves caring for the whole family, including smiles that are still growing. In fact, our treatment rooms are spacious enough to accommodate both children and parents, so that everyone can stay together throughout appointments.

Visiting the dentist makes me nervous. Can you help me relax?

Yes, definitely. Patient comfort is a big priority for us, and our team takes plenty of time with anxious patients to ensure that they feel well cared for and at ease throughout the process. If this isn’t enough to calm your nerves, sedation dentistry (nitrous oxide)is also available to create an even more relaxing atmosphere.

How can a dental crown improve my smile?

Dental crowns are designed to cover an individual tooth’s remaining structure, both protecting it from further harm and rebuilding what was lost in a strong and lifelike fashion. This type of restorative solution is often recommended when a patient has a heavily decayed tooth, an injured tooth, a weakened tooth, or a tooth with a serious cosmetic imperfection.

Where exactly are you located?

Our practice is located very close to the University of Michigan’s Central Campus, just east of the East Quad. For our physical address, please visit our Contact Us page.

Is there free parking at your location?

Yes, we have our own parking lot right next to our office.

Do you take my dental insurance?

Yes. We will always file insurance claims on the patient’s behalf, and our team members are experts at going the extra mile to maximize your available benefits and get you the most comprehensive coverage possible.
